While Northwest Whitfield put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Heritage. The Bruins blew past the Generals, posting a 49-0 win. Considering the Bruins have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Nuckolls was his usual excellent self, throwing for 291 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Northwest Whitfield's leading receiver Kade Mitchell was Nuckolls' top target yet again, picking up 142 receiving yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwest Whitfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 151 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Northwest Whitfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Northwest Whitfield will head out on the road to challenge LaFayette at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ramblers' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Bruins' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Heritage, they will take on Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Generals will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
