Preview: Northwood Chargers vs. Louisburg Warriors

The Northwood Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Louisburg Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.

Northwood put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-6 victory over Chatham Central. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Northwood had established a 42 point advantage.

Northwood found their leader in underclassman Grayson Cox, who threw for 340 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt. Gus Ritchey also helped out with an impressive 150 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Louisburg owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They claimed a resounding 28-0 win over Bunn on the road. The victory was nothing new for Louisburg as they're now sitting on three straight.

Among those leading the charge was Donte' Strickland jr, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Isaiah Eddie was another key contributor, gaining 130 total yards and a touchdown.

Northwood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Louisburg, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Northwood has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Louisburg struggles in that department as they've been even better at 184.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
