Softball Recap: Abilene Victorious

While Abilene's victory against Wylie wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Abilene won by a run and slipped past Wylie 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Avah Reyes, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Wylie off the board. Reyes has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Abilene's record now sits at 12-7. As for Wylie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Abilene and Wylie will both be playing Memorial the next time they take the field. Wylie will head out to face Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Abilene will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
