The St. Francis de Sales Knights will face off against the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Francis de Sales comes in on four and De La Salle Collegiate on six.
St. Francis de Sales barely beat St. John's Jesuit the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 11-2 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Knights have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tommy Woycik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Cole Provaznik and Nick Hood did most of the damage at the plate: Provaznik went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Hood went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Hood has become a key player for St. Francis de Sales: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brady Mitchey, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
St. Francis de Sales hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, De La Salle Collegiate got themselves on the board against Detroit Country Day on Thursday, but Detroit Country Day never followed suit. They blew past the Yellowjackets 14-0.
Mason Pilarski was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. John Bismack was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
De La Salle Collegiate's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Francis de Sales, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
St. Francis de Sales' speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Knights have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for De La Salle Collegiate, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will St. Francis de Sales continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went St. Francis de Sales' way against De La Salle Collegiate in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as St. Francis de Sales made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Pilots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
