It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Desert Edge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Verrado Vipers, sneaking past 72-69. Winning may never get old, but the Scorpions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Desert Edge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jude Ramirez, who went 8-for-17 en route to 17 points and six steals. That's the most steals Ramirez has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Appenzeller, who shot 57% from the field on his way to 17 points.

Desert Edge's record is now 7-3. As for Verrado, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Edge will be home for the holidays to greet Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Verrado, they will welcome Lake Havasu at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vipers are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
