Baseball Recap: Berkley Takes a Loss

Berkley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Detroit Country Day, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bears fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Berkley got a good showing from Dylan Field, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Nick Campbell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Berkley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Detroit Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berkley will head out to face off against Cranbrook Kingswood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Detroit Country Day, they will venture away from home to challenge Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
