Basketball Game Preview: Tulelake Honkers vs. Trinity Wolves

Tulelake is 0-6 against Trinity since December of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Honkers will take on the Wolves in a tournament on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Tulelake put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. They came out on top against Surprise Valley by a score of 75-62. The win continues a trend for the Honkers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Trinity against Hamilton on Tuesday as the squad secured a 68-41 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 27 points or more this season.

Trinity's win came from a few key players Tulelake will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wesley Dresselhaus, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. What's more, he racked up six steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carver Dresselhaus, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 20 points and three steals.

Trinity was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only posted four.

Trinity's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Tulelake, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Tulelake was taken down by Trinity 72-28 in their previous matchup on Saturday. Can the Honkers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
