Basketball Game Preview: Graham-Kapowsin Eagles vs. Puyallup Vikings

The Graham-Kapowsin Eagles will take on the Puyallup Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Graham-Kapowsin was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Sumner. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Spartans are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Puyallup). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bethel 83-31. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Puyallup's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Graham-Kapowsin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Graham-Kapowsin lost to Puyallup on the road by a decisive 51-34 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Graham-Kapowsin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
