Recap: Eureka Loggers vs. Piner Prospectors
After flying high against the Mt. Diablo Red Devils last Saturday, the Eureka Loggers came back down to earth. Eureka ended up on the wrong side of a rough 80-55 walloping at the hands of Piner on Thursday. Eureka was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-22.
Eureka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Estrada, who scored 18 points. The contest was Estrada's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Goodman, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Eureka's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Piner, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Eureka will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Fortuna at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Piner, they will take on Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
