Baseball Recap: Classical Comes Up Short

Classical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to the Scituate Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Purple of the 14-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Classical saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allen Espinal, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Espinal has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.

Classical's record is now 3-15. As for Scituate, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Classical will square off against rival Tolman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Scituate is set to take on their familiar foe Davies Career & Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
