On Tuesday Sonora's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged out the Whittier Cardinals 4-2. The four-run effort marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Samantha Jaimes was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Ashlyn Pantages also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Sonora's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
