Volleyball Recap: Coast Union Takes a Loss

Coast Union came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions, falling 3-0.

While Coast Union had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

Genesis Ortez was her usual excellent self, getting 31 digs and two aces for Wonderful College Prep Academy. Those 31 digs gave Ortez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Valeria Juarez, who had 13 digs.

Coast Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Coast Union will face off against Cuyama Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they will take on Golden Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
