Softball Recap: Aurora Central Trojans vs. Centaurus Warriors

After flying high against Englewood last Friday, Aurora Central came back down to earth. The Aurora Central Trojans fell just short of the Centaurus Warriors by a score of 25-24 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (12), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Aminah Leon led a balanced group of hitters, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Baltazar, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-7.

Even though they lost, Aurora Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Aurora Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Aurora Central will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Overland at 4:00 p.m. Overland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Centaurus, they will challenge Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centaurus is facing Fort Lupton at the right time seeing as Fort Lupton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
