Basketball Recap: Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets vs. Nebraska Christian Eagles
Heartland Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Nebraska Christian Eagles on the road by a 50-35 margin. The Red Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
Luke Olson and Cole Lindner certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Olson posted 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Lindner put up nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Rivera, who had six points.
It was another big night for Oliver Herman, who went 11 of 23 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds for Nebraska Christian. Those 27 points gave Herman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendehl Oswald, who posted five points and four steals.
Heartland Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Nebraska Christian, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
