Millbrook dropped their record down to 16-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wake Forest Cougars. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jack Strom was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

As for Wake Forest, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On Wake Forest's side, Jackson Hardy tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Ian Williams was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Antonio Parrino, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

While Millbrook had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
