Basketball Game Preview: Dillon Christian Warriors vs. Hoke County Bucks

The Dillon Christian Warriors and the Hoke County Bucks will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dillon Christian has four straight victories, Hoke County has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Thursday, Dillon Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Southeastern Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 68-64 win.

Dillon Christian had a senior duo take command as Thompson Stone went 10 of 23 en route to 32 points along with seven rebounds and five assists and Jackson Outlar dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The contest was Stone's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Blackman, who posted five points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Hoke County came up short against High Point Christian Academy last Saturday, falling 78-58. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Cougars are ranked 60th).

Dillon Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Hoke County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
