Basketball Game Preview: Beresford Watchdogs vs. Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies

The Beresford Watchdogs will head out to take on the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Beresford will be strutting in after a victory while Elk Point-Jefferson will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, everything went Beresford's way against Garretson as Beresford made off with a 51-26 win. The Watchdogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Elk Point-Jefferson is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Crofton. Elk Point-Jefferson took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crofton.

The victory made it two in a row for Beresford and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.

Beresford came up short against Elk Point-Jefferson in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 67-55. Can Beresford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
