Makayla Downey posted a new career-low in earned runs on Tuesday. She turned in nothing short of a gem, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
