Recap: St. George's Gryphons vs. Memphis Home Education Association
The St. George's Gryphons lost against Memphis Home Education Association back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. St. George's ended up on the wrong side of a rough 61-37 walloping at the hands of Memphis Home Education Association. While losing is never fun, St. George's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Memphis Home Education Association is ranked 36th).
St. George's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rollin Crose, who scored nine points.
This is the second loss in a row for St. George's and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Memphis Home Education Association, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. George's won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Briarcrest Christian at 10:00 a.m. on December 21st. Briarcrest Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully St. George's likes a good challenge. Memphis Home Education Association won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Houston at 11:30 a.m. on December 21st. One thing working in Houston's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
