Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Leta Poole and Addy Mira

After a string of three wins, St. Joseph Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Crescent City Raiders. The Flashes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

St. Joseph Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.

St. Joseph Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Addy Mira, who had eight digs and two aces, and Leta Poole, who had four digs.

Crescent City was led to victory by Reagan Chayer and Logan Bornstein. Chayer had eight digs and three aces, while Bornstein had 20 digs, six kills, and four aces. What's more, Chayer racked up 13 assists, the most she's had over her last nine matches.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 7-5. As for Crescent City, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy will welcome Peniel Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Crescent City, they will host Menendez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
