Football Recap: Carson Starts Season with Win at Home

Carson took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the St. Mary's Academy Belles 20-18. The score was all tied up 12-12 at the break, but the Colts were the better team in the second half.

Carson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from SA'NIYA KING, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Another receiver making a difference was ISLAND SAVAI LE'I, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one score.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Carson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 27-0 victory against Garden Grove on the 22nd. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on September 8.
