Football Game Preview: Tolland Eagles vs. Plainville Blue Devils

For the first time this season, Tolland will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Plainville Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tolland's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Newington on Friday. They were beaten by the Nor'easters 35-0.

Meanwhile, Plainville played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-26 to Middletown.

Tolland will need to focus on slowing down Anthony Abarno, one of several Plainville players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. William Putnam was Abarno's top target, picking up 91 receiving yards and one score.

Tolland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Plainville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Tolland beat Plainville 37-26 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
