Basketball Recap: De Soto Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Brookwood came into Monday's game looking for another win against De Soto, but Kylee Venner wouldn't allow it. The De Soto Pirates enjoyed a cozy 60-42 win over the Brookwood Falcons on Monday thanks in part to Venner, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played.

De Soto has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Brookwood, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. De Soto will venture away from home to take on North Crawford at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brookwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Bangor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bangor will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Brookwood surely won't give up without a fight.
