Basketball Game Preview: Tavares Bulldogs vs. Umatilla Bulldogs

The Tavares Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Umatilla Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Umatilla will be up against a hot Tavares team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Tavares put the hurt on Lyman with a sharp 67-46 win on Thursday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Umatilla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Lake. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 664th, while the Eagles are ranked 186th).

Tavares is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Umatilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
