Volleyball Recap: Trinity Prep Comes Up Short

Trinity Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Lake Nona Lions, falling 3-0.

Trinity Prep was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-16.

Lake Nona got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jocelyn Serra out in front who had 16 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Serra has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Olivia Tome, who had ten assists and nine digs.

Trinity Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lake Nona, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Prep will welcome Montverde Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Nona, after both having extra time off, they and Victory Charter School will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
