Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson have been struggling to pick up a win, with their match against Wright making it seven winless games in a row. Thomas Jefferson took a serious blow against Wright, falling 0-55. The state rankings had actually given Thomas Jefferson a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Sci Academy's victory lifted them to 2-6 while Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped them down to 1-7.
