Basketball Recap: Northeast Dubois Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Webster

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northeast Dubois). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the South Webster Jeeps 76-41. Given Northeast Dubois' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 132nd in Indiana, while South Webster is ranked 699th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Emmersen Kalb, who went 11 of 16 en route to 36 points. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 16.1 points per game. Bella Cummins was another key player, going 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Northeast Dubois was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Addi Claxon and Cailee Blevins certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Claxon went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and eight steals, while Blevins went 8 for 18 on her way to 19 points. The contest was Claxon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kylie Rawlins also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Northeast Dubois is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for South Webster, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Northeast Dubois has already played their next contest (against Forest Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Webster will host Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. South Webster is facing Valley at the right time seeing as Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
