Softball Game Preview: Banning Pilots vs. Narbonne Gauchos

Banning has gone a perfect 10-0 against Narbonne recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pilots will square off against the Gauchos at 3:15 p.m. Banning is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Banning's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Gardena as they made off with a 19-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pilots considering their two-run performance the game before.

Kourtney Talanoa was a standout: she fired off seven RBI, four runs, and three doubles while going 4-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Sharon Su'e was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

Banning always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Narbonne fell victim to San Pedro and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 13-0 to the Pirates. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Gauchos' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Banning moved to 11-11-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Narbonne, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Everything went Banning's way against Narbonne when the teams last played back in March, as Banning made off with a 22-0 win. Do the Pilots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gauchos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
