Baseball Game Preview: Fox Lane Foxes vs. Ketcham Storm

Fox Lane hasn't had much luck against Ketcham recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Foxes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Storm at 5:00 p.m. Fox Lane is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Fox Lane is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Clarkstown South, who was ranked 11th at the time (Fox Lane was ranked 19th). The Foxes came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-2 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Foxes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jackson Carroll tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Rudolph, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Mammola, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ketcham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against John Jay on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.

Ketcham also got a great performance from John Esposito as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

Ketcham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fox Lane, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
