Basketball Game Preview: Pocomoke Warriors vs. Nandua Warriors

Pocomoke will head out to take on Nandua at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Pocomoke lost to Cambridge-South Dorchester on the road by a 44-30 margin. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Donyae Washington put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 40 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alayah Thornton, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nandua, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They took down Chincoteague 47-29 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Ponies: they've now won six in a row.

Pocomoke's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Nandua, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Pocomoke didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Nandua in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pocomoke since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
