Basketball Recap: Russellville Comes Up Short

Russellville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 68-57 to the Todd County Central Rebels. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 80-62.

Todd County Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Connor Holder, who posted 18 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Holder a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antavion Shemwell, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Todd County Central, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-24.

Looking ahead, Russellville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Todd County Central, they will take on University Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
