Preview: Fayetteville Lions vs. Richards Panthers
Fayetteville has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Richards Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Fayetteville over the Bulldogs in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Fayetteville put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 50-30 win.
Kayme Schley went supernova for Fayetteville, scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Schley hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Rylie Dyer, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Richards scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 61-14 victory over Buckholts.
Fayetteville pushed their record up to 11-16 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Richards, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Fayetteville was able to grind out a solid victory over the Panthers when the teams last played back in January, winning 49-42. Will Fayetteville repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
