Basketball Recap: Bayard Comes Up Short

If Bayard was feeling good fresh off their 57-34 takedown of Banner County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bayard Tigers fell to the Leyton Warriors 66-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Bayard's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Leyton, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Bayard won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Garden County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Garden County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. Leyton and Hemingford will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
