Basketball Recap: Dakota Ridge Has No Trouble Against Wheat Ridge

Dakota Ridge won the last time they faced Wheat Ridge and things went their way on Saturday too. The Dakota Ridge Eagles enjoyed a cozy 48-29 victory over the Wheat Ridge Farmers. That looming 48-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Dakota Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darian Lewis led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lewis a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Emery Bowman, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Wheat Ridge had strong showings from Honora Tegeder, who posted four points and seven boards, and Kailey Mason, who earned two points.

The win made it two in a row for Dakota Ridge and bumps their season record up to 10-13. As for Wheat Ridge, they dropped their record down to 1-22 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home.

Dakota Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 57-22 defeat against Sierra on the 26th. Wheat Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
