Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Prep Comes Up Short

St. Augustine Prep lost against Middle Township back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The St. Augustine Prep Hermits took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Middle Township Panthers.

Jamir McNeil was nothing short of spectacular for Middle Township: he went 8 for 16 on his way to 26 points and three steals. McNeil's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Amir Elston was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

St. Augustine Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Middle Township, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

St. Augustine Prep will take on Eastside in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eastside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. Middle Township and Timber Creek Regional will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
