Baseball Recap: Exeter Township Gets the Win

Exeter Township was forced to take a big loss against they last Thursday, they got the better of them on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Fleetwood Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Tigers last Thursday, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Gavin Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chase Youse was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carter Redding, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Exeter Township's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Fleetwood, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Exeter Township has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Governor Mifflin on the 12th. As for Fleetwood, they will welcome James Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. on the 19th.
