Basketball Game Preview: Poultney Blue Devils vs. Arlington Memorial Eagles

The Poultney Blue Devils will take on the Arlington Memorial Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Poultney was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 74-68 to West Rutland.

Meanwhile, Arlington Memorial won against Sharon Academy on Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Arlington Memorial beat Sharon Academy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 61-37. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won seven in a row.

Poultney's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Arlington Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Poultney was able to grind out a solid win over Arlington Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 63-55. Will Poultney repeat their success, or does Arlington Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
