Basketball Recap: Taylor Beats First Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

Taylor extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from James Thomas. The Taylor Wildcats walked away with a 59-50 victory over the First Academy Eagles on Monday thanks in part to Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (eight).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidan Jezowski, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jezowski is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Rhett Walsh was another key player, putting up ten points along with five assists and five boards.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for First Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Taylor and Ocala Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Ocala Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for First Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hampden DuBose Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
