Basketball Recap: Provo Gets the Win

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Provo on Friday. They walked away with a 62-49 win over the Mountain View Bruins. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won six in a row.

Provo had a senior duo take command as Callen Tollestrup dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds and Makai Allen shot 64% from the field on his way to 23 points and six boards. Allen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Castagnetto, who posted seven points and three steals.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Hair, who had 12 points. Tanner Vlaardingerbroek was another key player, putting up ten points.

Provo's record now sits at 19-4. As for Mountain View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

Provo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain View, they will host Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will be up against the Stallions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.61 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
