Soccer Game Preview: Wayne vs. Mynderse Academy

The Wayne Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wayne took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Midlakes get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Wayne in their matchups with Midlakes: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy had just enough and edged out Geneva 1-0 on Tuesday. Given Mynderse Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Geneva are ranked 384th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mynderse Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Wayne, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Wayne couldn't quite get it done against Mynderse Academy when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
