Softball Game Preview: Madonna Blue Dons vs. St. Clairsville Red Devils

The Madonna Blue Dons will challenge the St. Clairsville Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madonna will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Madonna barely beat Bridgeport the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Dons put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 8-2 victory on Friday. Considering the Blue Dons have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Madi Owens, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Peyton Conley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, St. Clairsville lost 12-2 to Bellaire on Monday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Big Reds recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Madonna pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Clairsville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
