Crimson Tide add another big time weapon on offense.

A one-time Georgia commitment, star wide receiver DeVonta Smith of Amite (La.) announced Wednesday he is headed to Alabama.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound senior caught 80 passes for 1,223 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior, earning MaxPreps All-American honors. The Warriors went 11-3 and reached Louisiana's Class 3A state title game.

247Sports has Smith pegged as the No. 64 overall recruit in the Class of 2017 and No. 9 wide receiver. He also plays on the basketball team at Amite.

Smith originally committed to Georgia in August 2015 but pulled back on that pledge a little over five months later.

His pledge adds to the plethora of offensive skill position stars in this recruiting class for the Crimson Tide, joining quarterback Tua Tagovailoa of St. Louis (Honolulu, Hawaii), running back Najee Harris of Antioch (Calif.) and wide receivers Jerry Jeudy of Deerfield Beach (Fla.) and Henry Ruggs III of Lee (Montgomery, Ala.).
