Basketball Recap: St. Helena College and Career Academy Takes a Loss

St. Helena College and Career Academy lost against French Settlement back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks were outmatched by the French Settlement Lions and fell 69-18. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Lions are ranked 30th).

St. Helena College and Career Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for French Settlement, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Helena College and Career Academy will venture away from home to take on Bogalusa at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Helena College and Career Academy is facing Bogalusa at the right time seeing as Bogalusa is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for French Settlement, they will head out on the road to challenge Mandeville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. French Settlement knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Mandeville likes a good challenge.
