Baseball Recap: Mission Vista vs. Taft Toreadors
Mission Vista proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Taft Toreadors. While Mission Vista didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Santino Arvizu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, JJ Ayala was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Mission Vista's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Quinten Mangohig, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
