Basketball Recap: Clay County Comes Up Short

Clay County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 45-31 bruising from the Calhoun Red Devils. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Calhoun, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Clay County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-19 loss against Gilmer County on the 1st. As for Calhoun, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-27 victory against Wirt County on the 3rd.
