Manistique had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it five. They were beaten by the L'Anse Purple Hornets 46-16. On the bright side, the 16- point effort marked the Emeralds' highest-scoring matchup to date.

As for L'Anse, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

L'Anse's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mathew Rinkinen, who picked up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Manistique will challenge rival Bark River-Harris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, L'Anse is set to square off against their familiar foe Iron Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
