Steeleville has gone a perfect 3-0 against Johnston City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Steeleville will welcome Johnston City at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Steeleville 3.8, Johnston City 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Steeleville took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Anna-Jonesboro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Steeleville skirted past Anna-Jonesboro 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 2, 2024.

Steeleville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Canon Ruby, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Ruby has posted since back in April of 2024. Parker Fiene also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Johnston City entered their tilt with Galatia/Thompsonville on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bearcats a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Johnston City pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Steeleville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Steeleville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Johnston City struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
