Basketball Game Preview: Huss Huskies vs. Harding University Rams + How To Watch

The Huss Huskies will square off against the Harding University Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Huss knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Harding University likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Huss needed a bit of extra time to put away Palisades. They came out on top against the Pumas by a score of 69-58. The 69-point effort marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Huss found their leader in sophomore Jaleel Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine boards. Smith's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips was another key player, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Harding University managed to keep up with West Charlotte until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rams lost 77-57 to the Lions. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Huss' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Harding University, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Huss came up short against Harding University in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 56-52. Thankfully for the Huskies, Logan Blair (who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
