Baseball Game Preview: Boston College High Eagles vs. St. John's Pioneers

The Boston College High Eagles will square off against the St. John's Pioneers on Wednesday. Boston College High is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Boston College High is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Waltham with a sharp 9-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Matt Reardon tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jack Darcy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Boston College High's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Miller, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, St. John's had just enough and edged out Lincoln-Sudbury 2-1 on Monday.

Boston College High's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for St. John's, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.

Boston College High suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to St. John's in their previous matchup back in May. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
