Volleyball Recap: Mountainside Comes Up Short

Mountainside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Wickenburg Wranglers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Brodie Blackstad paced Mountainside's offense, picking up ten kills. Blackstad got some help from Sirena Rubio and her eight assists.

Mountainside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Wickenburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Mountainside has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Trivium Prep on the 28th. As for Wickenburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Mohave Accelerated on the 27th.
